#NoChildGoesHungry #EndChildFoodPoverty

The Daydreamer Initiative CIC is partnering with UK charity Midland Langar Seva Society to #ENDCHILDFOODPOVERTY and provide meals to children and families suffering in these harsh times.

Despite the UK being the sixth-richest country in the world, 22% of people and 30% of people live in poverty. MPs rejecting a plan to extend free school meals into the school holidays by 322 votes to 261 means many children may go hungry or be short of food.

In England, about 1.3 million children claimed free school meals in 2019 – approximately 15% of state-educated pupils.

Free? Really? What’s the catch?

NO CATCH! And yes, free!
We have partnered with MLSS (Midland Langar Seva Society) who currently provide (LANGAR) food to the needy and homeless and have done so since 2013. We will take donations of food from the general public and pass them on accordingly to be turned into meals for your loved ones.

Who are MLSS?

For further information about MLSS, please visit their website to see all the amazing work they do in the UK and beyond.

Who does the Daydreamer Initiative work with?

We are newly established and will work with anyone currently homeless or impending homelessness, staying in hostels, temporary accommodation, sofa surfing, rough sleeping or hidden homeless. If you wish to make a better life for yourself, we will work with you.

Why the Daydreamer Initiative?

Why not? People need food and it’s time individuals came together as a collective to help one another instead of waving our fingers at the TVs and newspapers.

SEVA means Service and Selfless Efforts for Welfare of All. Such services can be performed to benefit other human beings or society.

What is LANGAR?

LANGAR is the term used in the Sikh religion or in Punjab for general or common kitchen / canteen where food is served for free, without prejudice regardless of race, religion, and background.
